Toolkit is the NRCS tool for creating conservation plan documents including planned practice schedules, conservation program contract documents, and for recording conservation assistance notes. The following documents require Adobe Acrobat Help Document #1 Replace ArcMap Template File for a Different County (110 kb) How to replace the ArcMap County Template file for a customer who was created with a template for an incorrect county. This happens when a customer is created or opened the first time in Toolkit, and the user's computer does not have the correct county template loaded. Help Document #2 Reset ArcMap To Advanced Interface (101 kb) How to reset the ArcMap interface to the 'Advanced' mode. Advanced mode is needed to enable export of shapefiles, and selection of features. Help Document #3 Export Shapefiles (361 kb) How to export shapefiles from geodatabase features (Planned Land Units and Planned Conservation Practices) for sharing GIS data with partners. Help Document #4 Copy and Paste Features Into the Geodatabase (495 kb) When building land units or practices into the geodatabase, there are many instances where features (points, lines or polygons), typically in shapefile format, already exist. Using the functionality of Toolkit, we can copy these features and paste them into the ‘land unit’ or ‘practice’ layers. Help Document #5 Create Soil Map Layer With Labels (386 kb) How to use the ‘Soils Map and Inventory’ button to create a soils layer which is easily labeled. Help Document #6 F-Drive Remapping (138 kb) F drive re-mapping will be required of Customer Service Toolkit users who work out of multiple service centers. This document provides instructions on using a simple utility (batch file initially created by Sean Browning from Ohio NRCS, modified by Vermont NRCS) to quickly change the F drive setting to the office server you need to connect to. Help Document #7 Import Conservation Practice Symbols -- Use Style Sheets (959 kb) The process of creating conservation practice symbols in ArcGIS is a time consuming, repetitive process. Vermont NRCS Customer Service Toolkit users will employ ‘style sheets’ to make the process of creating conservation practice symbols more efficient and consistent statewide. Help Document #8 Create Multi-Part Conservation Practice Features (1.3 mb) When digitizing conservation practices in Toolkit, there are many instances where it will be helpful to have the ability to create non-contiguous segments of the same practice as a single feature. This will allow the planner to attribute the multiple segments as a single feature, thereby scheduling only a single practice instead of many individual practices. Help Document #9 Attach Text to an Annotation Group (738 kb) This document provides instructions on how to attach a text label to an annotation group. Help Document #10 Create Single Annotation Label Group (122 kb) This document illustrates a quick and simple tip that will allow creating a single annotation group for all the producer’s tracts. This functionality was recently requested by Vermont NRCS field personnel. User Information And Resources Available From The National Customer Service Toolkit 2004 Website
