2006 Conservation Security Program - Hudson - Hoosic Sub Watershed Basin

The Hudson-Hoosic Sub Watershed Basin has been selected for the 2006 Conservation Security Program (CSP). This 12 digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) includes the Walloomsac River - headwaters to South Stream, the South Stream, the Batten Kill – headwaters to Munson Brook, the Batten Kill – Munson Brook to Roaring Branch, and the Roaring Branch. This sub-watershed covers most of Bennington County at approximately 142,900 acres, which is 50% of the Vermont portion of the watershed.

Of the 142,900 acres of the Hudson-Hoosic watershed in Vermont, 86% is forestland, 6% is developed, and 8% is agricultural. Agricultural land is made up of approximately 6,500 acres cropland and 3,900 acres pasture.

Informational Meetings and Contact Information

  • An Informational Meeting about the program and what applicants will need to do to determine if they're eligible for the program will be held on Thursday, March 2nd from 7-9 PM at the Bennington County Field Office. The field office is located on the second floor of Citizens Bank building, which is located at 310 West Main Street in downtown Bennington.

All Enhancements have an associated job sheet, which explains in detail, the purpose of the enhancement and requirements of the participant, including records, that must be completed and maintained in order to receive payment.
