2006 Conservation Security Program - Hudson - Hoosic Sub Watershed BasinThe Hudson-Hoosic Sub Watershed Basin has been selected for the 2006 Conservation Security Program (CSP). This 12 digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) includes the Walloomsac River - headwaters to South Stream, the South Stream, the Batten Kill – headwaters to Munson Brook, the Batten Kill – Munson Brook to Roaring Branch, and the Roaring Branch. This sub-watershed covers most of Bennington County at approximately 142,900 acres, which is 50% of the Vermont portion of the watershed. Of the 142,900 acres of the Hudson-Hoosic watershed in Vermont, 86% is forestland, 6% is developed, and 8% is agricultural. Agricultural land is made up of approximately 6,500 acres cropland and 3,900 acres pasture. Land Cover / Use
