Oil Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure
Pilot Announced
January 24, 2012 - The Natural Resource Conservation
Service (NRCS) in Vermont will be offering Oil Spill Prevention, Control, and
Countermeasure (SPCC) pilot through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program
(EQIP). Sign up for this pilot will begin February 3, 2012 and end on June 11,
2012. This pilot provides assistace to producers who are required to comply with
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations related to environmental
damage from accidental on-farm oil spills. Visit Vermont's

Sign Up For 2012 Conservation Stewardship Program
EXTENDED
January 9, 2012 - The Natural Resource Conservation
Service (NRCS) announced that the ranking period cut-off date for CSP has been
extended to January
27, 2012. Producers interested in CSP should submitt applications to their local
NRCS office by the deadline so that their applications can be considered during
the first ranking period of 2012. Visit Vermont's CSP web page for

Announcement of Funding, Proposal Requirements, and Review Criteria for
the General Wetlands Reserve Enhancement Program (General WREP) Fiscal Year 2012
January 19, 2012 - The USDA NRCS General WREP program is a component of WRP through which NRCS enters into agreements with eligible partners to target and leverage resources to carry out high-priority wetland protection, restoration, and enhancement activities and improve wildlife habitat on eligible lands.
All proposals must be received on or
before Friday, February 10, 2012.

News Update
June 5, 2011 - NRCS Regional Conservationist for the East, Leonard
Jordan, arrived in to Vermont to attend the NEASDA Conference at Jay Peak
(Northeast Association of State Departments of Agriculture), and
take a two-day NRCS State Tour. While he was here, Mr. Jordan met
with NRCS customers, staff and partners, and was given many perspectives about what makes Vermont a unique and challenging place to live and work.
